German 1B/10B: Assignment for 11/4/14: Kapitel 6.  Continue to learn/study/memorize new vocabulary introduced for this chapter.  Pay close attention to the genders and plural forms.

P. 193, Übung 9: Review vocabulary for room furnishings, interiors, on pp. 80-81 and be prepared to ask questions "Wo steckt die verlorene Theaterkarte?"

Study the Neue Wörter and match the pictures to the statements 1-6.

Akt. 8: listen (3 times) and fill in the blanks.

Akt. 9: will be done in class.

Akt. 10: listen (3 times) and check the correct boxes

Read Landeskunde-Info and be prepared to answer the questions.

P. 194: Read Expressing events in the past and study the notes. This will be an introduction to the simple past tense, the "narrative" tense, covered more completely in Kapitel 10 (German 2A, Spring 2015).  

Übung 11:  Complete the sentences using haben or sein, as appropriate, in the simple past. 

Übung 12:  Will be done in class.  Try to prepare a few of these questions and answers to facilitate. 

P. 196: Read The simple past tense of modals and study the notes.  Note especially that modals in the simple past have no umlauts.
